Great Festival 2016

It’s over but what a year… we really enjoyed it – and thanks to all for adding to the diversity of stalls, events, food, music, art.,performance…and for taking part.

A local 8-year won the ‘Somers Town Now’ photo comp, Regent High School pupil Abrahym won the ‘People’s favourite’ + had a New Horizon highly commended winner. Somehow managed to get Kier Starmer, the Deputy Mayor, ex-Mayor, and Pearly Queen + ALL the councillors in one place to give prizes…
We had Bengali music, retro punk, Josie’s young dance group, surreal performance art, the new line up of the Somers Town Blues Band, free massages from Women and Health, vintage make up from Working men’s college,Pearly Queens, youth performance ‘The Plan’ from Small green shoots, Somers Town Futures, acupuncture, drawing, bubbles, fresh juice stalls, dancing from Josie’s new group, the British Library, science from The Francis Crick, Chilean empanadas, African Drumming, a History stall, a reinvented Big Brother celeb Becki debut on stage, Mimi’s anti HS2 singalong, and a very British singalong with Pearly Queens…

But the bubble man trumped all as our favourite attraction! = simple pleasures are best!
